How to set up a tent

Some people feel like it is a complex task and they never going to make it but it is not at all like that. Campers often fail to set up a tent not because they don’t know how but because not following the proper direction.

Setting up a tent is not rocket science however it is as easy as you eat food if you just know the followings even you never set up a tent:

  1. Practice it before going to the campsite. If you can make a trial at home then it will be easier than to set up without trial.
  2. Don’t you think, it is a little complex to set up in dark? Yes, it is. So try to reach early in the campsite as you can set it up under the sunlight.
  3. Select a spot where it is safe like not under a weak tree. It is always forbidden to make camping under a tree. You never know, when a branch can fall down on your head.
  4. Make the ground clean, debris-free. Flat ground is good for setting it up because you will never feel comfortable on an unparalleled ground however debris can cause bad to the fabric of the tent.
  5. Lay a tarp on the ground and unpack the tent on there just because not gathering the moisture from the ground.
  6. Open it smoothly. You don’t want any part got engaged with the tarp which can collect the raindrop.
  7. Re-check the direction whether the opening of the tent is in the east or west. If you want to experience the sunrise, set the door directly to the east.
  8. If you have a footprint, set that first on the ground than go for a tent.
  9. Connect the poles in the right direction. Don’t confuse one with another. There can be colour code or read the direction.
  10. Enter the poles in the right direction of the flaps of the tent. You will find different designs of a tent in the market but most of them designed as “X” form. However, some tents are free standing. Don’t make anything wrong there, if it needs to read the direction again.
  11. Raise the tent up. You may need the partners to help here or if there is no one, don’t worry it is possible alone. You may need to bend the poles in the proper direction.
  12. Stack your tent to the ground by the metal tent stakes. If the ground is hard to take a harmer with you but be careful and don’t make heavy pressure on that because it can be bend with heavy pressure.
  13. Cover your tent with the rain fly if you have one or it needs. Generally, tents have a rainfly to protect it from the rainfall and to create some extra space to keep the extra essentials.

This may seem easy and it is, but make sure you followed each instruction given by the manufacturer as well you did not skip anything. However, if you skipped, do not try to make any shortcut.

Get the great one and have a nice trip.
